4th Grade
Instructor: Mrs. Brena Hubbard
 Dear 4th Grade Parents,

I am delighted to be working with your children for the remainder of this school year. I would like to take this time to tell you all a little bit about me and my background. I was raised in Chulahoma, MS, where I attended Galena through 8th grade. I then attended and graduated from Byhalia High School. Immediately thereafter, I joined the U.S. Army Reserves and left for basic training at Fort Jackson in South Carolina. I remained a reservist until 2006, when I was honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist. During that time, I attended Mississippi State University where I met my husband Ralph; we have been married for 12 years. Shortly after marrying, we relocated to Eastman, GA for a year where I worked as a full-time substitute for the Dodge County School District. We then spent the next 8 years in Milledgeville, GA. where I worked as a preschool teacher for 3 and 4 year olds at a private facility for 5 years; I also served as the Assistant Director for the facility. I left that position in 2011 after the birth of my second child (Abigail, 6 and RJ, 4). I was a stay-at-home mom for the next 3 ½ years, during which time I returned to school to earn my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies K-8. I completed this journey in November and became licensed by the state of Mississippi.
I want to ensure each of you that I will work my hardest to provide your children with the best possible instruction. If you have any questions, concerns, or if you’d like to set up a conference, please do not hesitate to contact me at 662-252-1612 or by email at bhubbard@shsm.org.
